Boise State Will LIGHT THE BLUE, You Can Too

The new LED lights installed over the summer at Albertsons Stadium will be utilized to celebrate and promote marquee events and accomplishments, Boise State Director of Athletics Jeramiah Dickey announced Wednesday.

“Beginning this fall, we will LIGHT THE BLUE the evening prior to each home game in Albertsons Stadium, immediately following all home or away Bronco football wins, in recognition of individual or team championships, and in celebration of at-large postseason bids for all sport programs,” said Dickey. “Albertsons Stadium is a landmark on campus and in the Treasure Valley. It is fitting to utilize the new feature to send Bronco Nation a call to action or celebration.”

Fans and businesses in the Treasure Valley and beyond are invited to “Light The Blue” alongside the Broncos by incorporating blue lights into their homes and offices. The schedule below details when Albertsons Stadium will be illuminated in blue. The moments will also be shared in real-time on Boise State’s official social media channels.

The multi-functional LED lights render colors more accurately and produce less glare which translates to a better player and fan experience. They are also significantly more efficient, reducing energy consumption by 60-70%.

The new LED lights at Albertsons Stadium mark another milestone of the athletic department’s What’s Next Initiative and will significantly impact Boise State’s goals and objectives within all four pillars of the initiative – infrastructure, student-athlete experience, revenue generation and marketability.
